Career and Technical Education (CTE) empowers DC learners to pursue their interests, prepare for success beyond high school, and engage with a rapidly evolving workforce. CTE aligns academic instruction with high-quality, real-world learning experiences, meeting the changing needs of students while helping industries close critical skills gaps. Beginning with the 2024-2025 School Year, OSSE was charged with publishing information concerning CTE programs for the previous school year.

DC’s CTE programs served 7,056 students in SY24-25, with more than half participating in OSSE-funded work-based learning and 1,437 earning industry-recognized credentials or passing industry validated exams. CTE concentrators also earned 1,572 CTE align college credit and achieved a 99% four-year graduation rate. Postsecondary enrollment data will be reported in 2027. More information about DC CTE can be found on OSSE’S Career & Technical Education webpage.
