Programs of study provide a structured approach to academic
and technical education

The DC CTE Network is committed to investing in paths to opportunity through education, training and employment. Our Industry Partners, School Faculty & Administration, and Government Agencies comprise a single cohesive network that supports high quality programs of study across DCPS.

CTE: Start Here; Get There.

CTE gives you an opportunity to take classes that teach you about specific careers while also giving you hands-on experience. We’ve worked with different companies to create programs for careers of the future. You’ll have a chance to work while you learn, earn college credits and get professional certifications in one of CTE’s chosen fields. Select from the programs below to learn about the careers in each category.

Meet Our
Students

CTE has more than 40 active student organizations — some are academic, others are not.  But there are benefits to belonging, including learning to work with diverse groups of people and gaining confidence in expressing your ideas. Sometimes working with smaller groups is the perfect way to showcase your talents outside of a classroom.

Work-Based
Learning

There are many benefits to hands-on experience. Not only does it allow you to discover your interests, but you develop skills that can help you in the workplace, such as critical thinking, problem solving and working collaboratively with a team.
