The Marketing Career Cluster focuses on planning, managing, and performing marketing activities to reach organizational objectives.
Marketing is a term used for such career fields as advertising, public relations, media planning, sales strategy and more. Whether you’re using traditional advertising tools like radio, TV and billboards or unlocking the power of the internet to use social media and ecommerce apps, marketers have a simple task: generate interest in certain products and services.
Every company or organization is always looking to keep or add to its share of the marketplace, and that’s what’s driving the projected 8 percent growth in the field by 2028. Marketers make $119K per year on average in the DC metro area. Entry level jobs require a bachelor’s degree. And there are 718 job openings annually in the DC metro area.
